Due West Education is seeking talented individuals to join our Undergraduate Admissions team as an Undergraduate Strategy Counselor based in Beijing, China.

 

About the Job

A day in the life: In your role as a Strategy Counselor (SC), you will lead a team of Counselors to provide direct support to students in building their candidacy through the college application process. You will be driving strategies that enhance the student’s academic, extracurricular, and personal development. You will use time management and project management skills that help meet deadlines for time-sensitive projects. And you’ll be applying your exceptional client service skills together with analytical and creative thinking to find solutions that ensure our students’ success. Reporting to Undergraduate Directors, you will be working with a broader Due West team to maximize the outcome for students through:

 

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead a team of 3 counselors, steering the design and execution of student profile enhancement strategiesand university application development.
  • Mentor and support Counselors, fostering an environment of growth and success with goals of achieving orientation.
  • Provide regular updates to Undergraduate Directors, showcasing the team’s achievements and progress towards goals.

 

Client Engagement and Support

  • Create and implement a roadmap for students’ personal and intellectual growth, guiding them to uncover genuine passions and interests that form the foundation of their university applications.
  • Provide detailed guidance and editing support on all components of students’ university applications.
  • Conduct regular meetingswith students and families to discuss their goals and expectations, proactively addressing any challenges or concerns related to the process of applying to US universities.
  • Collaborate closely with our Parent Coordinatorteam to resolve client service issues effectively and ensure a seamless experience for clients.

 

Representation and Collaboration

  • Represent the team in sales meetings and sponsored eventsto maximize program impact.
  • Build relationships with business partners and schools in China and the U.S.

What We Expect of You

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited American institution
  • Excellent English skills in reading, writing, and public speaking
  • Previous experience as a college counselor or admissions professional
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in student-facing roles, consulting,or education
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational, communication,and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt and desire to grow in a leadership position
  • Visa eligibility for non-Chinese citizens: minimum two years post-baccalaureate work experience
